Director
Brandon Pyers is a Director at Waypoint Advisory, based in Boston, Massachusetts. He brings more than 20 years of experience advising companies on state and local tax credits, discretionary incentives, and public-sector economic development programs across the United States.
Before joining Waypoint Advisory, Brandon held senior leadership roles at Ryan and Deloitte, where he served as a Director and Senior Manager, respectively, in their Credits and Incentives and Multistate Tax practices. In those roles, he advised clients across a broad range of industries on the identification, structuring, and negotiation of complex incentive packages tied to corporate expansions, relocations, and capital investments.
Earlier in his career, Brandon spent eight years at EY, rising to Senior Manager in the State and Local Tax Credits & Incentives practice. He led the Pennsylvania market practice covering Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware, with a specialized focus on highly discretionary tax and non-tax incentive programs requiring complex financial analysis, strategic planning, and direct negotiations with senior state and local government officials.
Brandon also served as Vice President at New Landmark Group, a boutique tax incentive consulting firm, where he supported corporate clients in securing public-sector benefits. He began his career in public service as Director of State Relations & Inbound Investment for the Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment, working to attract foreign direct investment and promote Massachusetts as a global business destination.
Brandon’s experience across government, boutique consulting, and Big Four firms gives him a unique, 360-degree perspective on how incentives are designed, evaluated, and awarded. He is known for helping clients align business objectives with public policy priorities and maximize the value of incentive opportunities through thoughtful strategy and negotiation.
